about
I’m a Brooklyn, NY native with roots and perspective shaped by time spent in Japan, New Mexico, and South Carolina. A lifelong Hip-Hop head. Global traveler. Basketball loyalist. Taco Tuesday enthusiast.
This year marks three decades in journalism, with my work deeply rooted in Hip-Hop culture and the platforms that shape it.
I started as an intern at VIBE Magazine, went on to XXL Magazine as Associate Music Editor (later Editor-in-Chief), and helped build and lead culture-defining publications including KING Magazine, RIDES Magazine, and Hip-Hop Soul. Along the way, I returned to VIBE as Editor-in-Chief, led RESPECT Magazine, and expanded my voice through television and radio appearances across VH1, BET, and MTV, as well as an executive at Dick Clark Productions.
What’s always mattered most to me isn’t just covering culture—but building the systems, platforms, and rooms where culture can thrive.
That work now lives under Daylight Media.
Daylight MediaDaylight Media is where culture, talent,
and storytelling meet scale.
It’s the company through which I develop media platforms, advise talent strategy, collaborate with brands, and help create moments that resonate far beyond the screen or page. From editorial leadership to live television, from brand partnerships to public conversations, Daylight Media exists to bring clarity, intention, and cultural integrity to everything it touches.
We don’t chase moments.
We build infrastructure for impact.
The Daylight Effect is my personal mission and north star.
It’s rooted in a simple belief:
What we bring into the light has the power to grow others.
I’ve only arrived here because giants invested their time, vision, and belief in me—opening doors, sharing wisdom, and creating space. Daylight Media exists to extend that same opportunity forward.
Through platforms, partnerships, and people, my work is about:
Elevating voices before they’re obvious
Creating pathways instead of gatekeeping
Helping the next generation build something lasting—not fleeting
The goal isn’t spotlight. It’s legacy.
